QAFF 2026 Model Contract

1. Parties
This Model Agreement (Agreement) is made between:
· Queensland Arts & Fashion Festival (QAFF) (Organiser), and · QAFF model as named below (Model).
Together, the parties agree as follows.

2. Purpose
The Model is engaged to participate in the Queensland Arts & Fashion Festival (QAFF) and to make themselves available for the following activities (Activities): Activation Day, rehearsals, fittings, content day, promotional shoots and runway shows.
QAFF is a not-for-profit organisation that serves the community as a fashion industry incubator, providing a launchpad for aspiring and emerging models to learn and gain experience. The Model agrees to participate on a voluntary and unpaid basis.

3. Participation and commitment

  • The Model acknowledges that participation may require attendance at scheduled events and related Activities.
  • If the Model is not scheduled to walk in a specific show, they are encouraged to attend QAFF shows as an attendee (model discount applies) and/or as a registered volunteer.
  • The Model agrees to be proactive in checking and responding to QAFF emails.
  • The Model is encouraged to engage with QAFF and its collaborating partners through social media content, including posting and tagging.
  • The Model will be expected to use their social media presence to help promote the festival and support ticket sales for shows throughout the festival. When posting any social media content relating to QAFF or any festival activities, the Model must make best endeavours to correctly credit and tag all relevant collaborating parties where known and applicable, including (without limitation) other models, designers, stylists, photographers/videographers, hair and make-up artists, organisers, sponsors and partners.
  • Where a party’s handle is not known, the Model must use the correct name and/or tag QAFF so the Organiser can assist with attribution.
  • The Model acknowledges that these commitments cannot be altered and agrees to review the schedule and expectations prior to confirming participation.

4. Schedule (indicative) and fittings
The Organiser will provide the Models with the relevant show and activity schedules and The Model agrees to attend all required dates and times as notified.
For fairness to our designers, QAFF has a strict “no fittings, no show” policy. This means that if, for any reason, the Model cannot attend required fittings, the Model may be removed from the relevant show(s).

5. Professional conduct
The Model must behave professionally, respectfully and safely at all times. The Model must follow all reasonable directions from Organiser staff, venue staff and designated event leads. The Model must not engage in conduct that may endanger themselves or others, or that may damage the reputation of the Organiser, its partners, sponsors, designers or participants.

6. Safety and duty of care
The Organiser is committed to providing a safe environment.
The Model must promptly notify the Organiser of any safety concerns, hazards, incidents or inappropriate behaviour.
Models under the age of 18 must be signed in and out of Activities and events by their legal parent or guardian.
Models under the age of 16 must have a parent or guardian on the premises at all times during any event or Activity.

7. Zero tolerance — sexual harassment, inappropriate conduct and unwanted contact QAFF maintains a zero-tolerance policy for sexual harassment and any sexually inappropriate conduct.
This policy applies to all participants and representatives involved in the Activities, including (without limitation) models, designers, staff, contractors, volunteers, photographers/videographers, hair and make-up artists, sponsors, venue personnel and guests.
Prohibited conduct Sexual harassment and inappropriate conduct includes, but is not limited to:
· Inappropriate comments or language of a sexual nature (including jokes or remarks about someone’s body, appearance, sexuality, gender identity or sexual history).
· Sexual innuendo or suggestive behaviour communicated via speech, conversation, direct messages, emails, texts, social media or any other correspondence.
· Uninvited, unwanted or non-consensual physical contact, including touching, grabbing, hugging, kissing, brushing against someone, or any physical interaction that is not clearly welcomed.
· Intimidating Interaction, any behaviour that creates an intimidating, hostile, humiliating or offensive environment.

Reporting and immediate action If the Model experiences or witnesses any conduct that may breach this clause, they are encouraged to report it as soon as possible to QAFF management or the designated event lead.
The Organiser may take immediate action at its sole discretion, including:
1. Removing the offending person from the event/program area.
2. Ending the Model’s participation (or the participation of any other person) without refund or compensation.
3. Banning the person from future QAFF events or programs.
4. Escalating the matter to venue security and/or the police where appropriate.

Co-operation and professionalism
The Model agrees to maintain professional boundaries and comply with any directions given by Organiser staff in relation to safety, boundaries and conduct. This clause survives termination of the Agreement and applies to all Activities, including rehearsals, fittings, backstage areas, workshops, photoshoots, after-parties and online communications connected to the program.

8. Media, photography and promotional use
The Model consents to being photographed and/or filmed during the Activities.
The Model grants the Organiser (QAFF) and any collaborating organisations or partners permission to use the Model’s name, image, voice and likeness for promotional, marketing, editorial and archival purposes across digital and print channels, without further approval or payment, unless otherwise agreed in writing.

9. Confidentiality
The Model agrees not to disclose confidential information relating to the Organiser, designers, partners, sponsors or other participants, including backstage operations, unreleased creative concepts, or private participant information.

10. Removal from Activities
The Organiser may remove the Model from any Activity (and/or terminate this Agreement) if the Model breaches this Agreement, fails to follow reasonable directions, or engages in unsafe or inappropriate behaviour.

11. General This Agreement constitutes the entire agreement between the parties regarding the Model’s participation in the Activities. Any variations must be in writing and agreed by both parties. If any provision is unenforceable, the remainder of the Agreement will continue in effect.

By ticking the I AGREE box, the Model enters into a binding agreement with the Organiser (Queensland Arts & Fashion Festival) and agrees to the clauses set out above. If the Model is under the age of 18, this Agreement must be completed and agreed to by the Model’s parent or legal guardian.
